Just YESTERDAY (OMG!) I found out that I was headed to a show with New York Fashion Week with Vaseline Spray & Go. I’m am thrilled! It’s a great sponsorship opportunity for me but sometimes one of these events happen and I’m all, “whoa this is cool.” And, “WHAT THE HECK AM I GOING TO WEAR?!?!”
I went to New York Fashion Week two years ago and went to a daytime show. I remember wearing something stylish but low key – no LBD for mid-day, right?
Since this thing happened so quickly, I decided I would make do with closet clothes. These were the contenders.
At first I thought about this one. The blouse is polka-dots with a cool tie/bow thing and then it’s a subtle striped blazer. Both from White House Black Market. I thought I was being all tres-chic doing the mix and match pattern thing. Paired it with an orange Banana Republic Skirt and Vince Camuto wedge heels.
This is a vintage 60s dress and belt that I bought at the coolest little vintage shop at the Jersey shore last year. It used to look cool on me, I swear, but when I tried it on today I felt like it looked a little frumpy so it’s a no go for tomorrow!
But then I tried this dress on that I bought end of season this summer at Banana Republic and realize I’m just way too mainstreamy as I preferred this.
I so badly wanted to do the Frye boots with it too but it’s supposed to be in the 80s tomorrow and it just feels a *teeny* bit too soon for big boots, right? Think I’m ending up with this. Will see if I change my mind tonight but I think it’s fun and it’s comfy yet trendy which is key for a day and evening in New York!:
Same dress, wedge heels and then the white jean jacket for only if I get chilly. Hopefully I won’t be the only one not wearing booties, which are apparently the thing to wear at this year’s New York Fashion Week. (I just can’t do it man. I think I’m too old. Am I the only one who feels this way?)
Disclaimer: I have been hired by Vaseline to attend and share photos and product info over the course of the next few days. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
You look great trying to decided what to wear is such a challenge you are going to have a great time and rock the fashion week.
