My preschooler has finally mastered using the potty at home. But I was kind of at a loss on how to keep the potty momentum going when we’re out — until we discovered the 2 in 1 Potette Plus by Kalencom ($16). The 2 in 1 Potette Plus can be used as a portable potty OR a trainer seat. This full-size potty stores flat, comes with 3 super-absorbent liners and a plastic carry bag with a drawstring. While it’s not tiny, I found it compact enough to fit my large size diaper bags. I was also able to discreetly stash it in my stroller basket for park/playground use.
Underneath the potty, the legs extend down to make it a travel potty or out to use a trainer seat. We found that the trainer seat fit every size and type of toilet seat we came across. My son felt confident using it and it was easy to fold up and put away when not in use.
To use the Potette Plus as a trainer seat, unfold the legs fully until they are in a horizontal position until a click is felt. Then put the trainer seat on the toilet. The legs have a non slip surface that “holds” onto the toilet. When your child is finished, just fold back the legs and place it back the storage bag. To use the Potette Plus as a travel potty, unfold the legs and push up towards the rim so they click into place (all 4 hinges have to be clicked into position). Then place the liner inside the potty and hook the liner handles over the potty legs.
We ‘re getting a lot of use out of the Potette Plus as a trainer seat. We also like having the option to use it a travel potty.
Kalencom also makes the On the Go Potty ($10), which is their original portable travel potty. You can buy additional liners for both products (10 liners for $5).
Kalencom’s 2 in 1 Potette Plus and On the Go Potty are widely available.

Sister-in-law is a big fan and uses it all the time. Perfect for parks when you don’t want your child to use the public bathroom.
I have one of these as well and love it. Everyone on the playground always asks me where I got it from.
