For the last couple of years, I’ve been waking up with dry, peeling lips in the morning. Not in a chapped lip kind of way but rather a I-can-peel-a-layer-of-skin-off-my-lips way. It’s weird. And kind of gross. I drink a lot of water and I use lip moisturizer most days. Also, this happens year round so I was a little stumped as to what was causing it.

The one time I tried to Google it, one of the top results was an article titled “My Menopausal Lips” and since I’m soooo in denial, I choose to not look. But I already kind of suspected that it had something to do with age since it’s something new. The whole, women needing and wanting lip plumper as they get older… my lips are pretty much disappearing so could that be it?

I thought using a lip exfoliator might be a decent solution and I’ve been trying a few out recently with nice results. i.e., my lipsdo not peel the mornings after I use one of them. So it’s clearly a solution.

Here’s 3 options for good lip scrubs or exfoliators if you need it like I do:

lipscrub

1.Sephora Sugar Lip Polish, $24

2.Mint Julips Lip Scrub from LUSH, $9.95– I’ve always been a huge fan of all things LUSH and their MINT Lip Scrub is no exception

3.e.l.f Lip Exfoliator, $3– the price is definitely right and I love the sweet taste
