As I near the end of my pregnancy and my body is bigger than ever, I find myself constantly thinking about getting my body back after the baby comes. The last time, I had about 20lbs to lose and it look me at least 6 to 9 months to get it off. This time, because I have a toddler to keep up with as well, I want to get my body back sooner and have more energy so I can keep up with my 2 kids.
So what am I doing about this? I am currently reading Body after Baby, a book that details a simple, healthy plan to lose your baby weight fast (in generally 30 days). It breaks up your first 30 days into three categories:
1. Super Easy – Days 1-10 — Easy and basic healthy foods to eat
2. Super Foods – Days 11-20 — Fuel foods loaded with nutrients for energy and healing, with some gentle movements for you to do
3. Super Performance – Days 21-30 – Energy foods and a movement plan to help strengthen your body
One of my favorite TV doctors, Oprah’s Dr. Oz, endorses the plan and says it makes “perfect sense”, because in addition to losing weight, you will sleep better, improve your mood, and reduce stress. Included with the book are over 100 recipes, meal plans, menus, grocery lists, workouts to do with your baby, and more.
I am excited to try out the Body after Baby plan when my little one arrives, and I plan to report back the results after 30 days.
