Furniture can really change your perception of a room. I am living proof of that with both of my bedroom(2014) and family room (2015)- both of which rooms were redone with Raymour & Flanigan over the course of the last year and a half.
The early re-do this year was the family room. And I won’t go so far to say that I hated my family room but I was definitely meh about the room. It was a place to sit, period.
Since having redone the entire space with Raymour & Flanigan last April, I am truly in love. It’s MY space. The kids know I have my own spot on the couch that is “Mom’s seat.”
The sofa and family room is my happy place. I joke to my husband that I can’t sit down – if I do, I get totally sucked into the comfort of the sofa and the room. You can see all of the details on myBig Family Room Reveal post from April of this year.
So what’s on tap next? Our dining room! I’m really excited to be re-doing our dining room now too with Raymour & Flanigan! Here’s a picture of our current dining room:
We don’t have any furniture in the room other than this dining room table. We got it from Crate & Barrel when we were first married and it’s a very plain but functional table. We got a dent in the top of it within the first year of using it so I tend to keep it covered with a tablecloth at any given time.
Now that I’m older and not twenty-something and moving into my first house, I’d love to have something that’s a little more for my dining room. I don’t tend to be the one who hosts holiday meals simply because I feel like I don’t have much in the way to offer in terms of entertaining in my house and I would love to change that.
So coming soon: a new dining room! I hope to have it all set and done by Thanksgiving. Here’s a few of the sets I like online – what do you think of these options? I’ll be posting after I shop and I would love input!
The Ardmore 7-pc Dining Set – love the rustic look ($1839.99)
Vineyard 7-pc Dining Set – I’ve always loved this one. It’s definitely my style and I love the colors. ($2619.00)
Gray Street 6-pc Dining Set – Intriguing with the bench ($1159.00) and I’m a fan of the studs
The Glamour 5-pc Dining Set (I’d have to add extra chairs to this one) – $1159.00
What do you guys think? Or is there another set on the Dining Room section of Raymour & Flanigan that you think I should consider?
Disclaimer: I am working as a Raymour & Flanigan Ambassador this year and I was provided with a gift card to get new furniture for my family room. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Definitely the Vineyard set. It is timeless and elegant. With Pets and children , the upholstered seats in the other three may take on too much wear and tear.
You will never tire of the Vineyard set. LOVE IT!!
I like the Glamour the best- those chairs are wonderful. Can you add a leaf and two chairs?
I think vineyard fits best with your kitchen set and makes the house more cohesive…. It is a more relaxed laid back vibe – seems to fit you! But I’ll like whatever you choose!
Vineyard for sure!
