Before I had kids, I wasn’t much of a cook — but I did work at the Food Network for 5 years and have been around cookware (had experience with high end brands). So when I was contacted recently about Anolon Nouvelle Copper Cookware, I asked to test a piece out. I love cooking now and I feel it really matters what pots and pans you use.
We tested out the 10″ Skillet ($79). According to the company, the reason why it cooks so well is that it features “a layer of copper sandwiched by 2 layers of aluminum and protected by an impact-bonded magnetic stainless steel cap creating unmatched heat distribution and induction suitability”. Basically meaning it’s non-stick and is going to cook your food evenly. And it did exactly what it said it was going to do — cook a delicious dinner!
I made a black bean and cheese quesadilla and was really pleased how it heated and browned my tortilla.
Which, in my case, doesn’t always happen when you use a non-stick pan. The stainless steel handle was cool to the touch, even while cooking at a high heat. It was a breeze to clean and I didn’t have to worry about any metal utensils scratching it up. I felt it performed better than the “gourmet” skillet I received as a gift last year. It’s also oven safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
The company now has a new digital ad campaign. Check it out now on

Thank you to Anolon for providing a product sample for review purposes.
Thanks Nancy. I’ve been looking for new cookware and will keep this in mind.
