My baby, Skylar, recently got his first tooth at 10 months of age. As his little tooth was emerging and he was miserable, we were sent a sample of Baby Orajel Naturals Teething Gel to test out. For my older two kids (now 5 1/2 and 3 1/2), we used a very popular natural teething tablet, which has since been recalled. I’ve used Orajel also and was thrilled to hear that they had a natural formula also, as a choice. It’s benzoncaine-free, as well as dye free, paraben free and alcohol free.

I gave it to him on the day that the tooth shot up and he was so unhappy. It’s a clove oil formula — so make sure your child isn’t allergic to cloves or Balsam of Peru. Applying it took a second and it will smell strongly of cloves. Skylar looked at me curiously — he had never tasted cloves before.

My mouth is killing me, no pics Ma!

I wasn’t sure if he was going to cry, but it must have worked quickly, because his one-tooth smile emerged again.

Much happier after Orajel Naturals Teething Gel
