Begin their love of poetry at an early age

I wasn’t sure how this one would go over. Poetry Speaks to Children is for ages 4+: a collection of children’s poetry in a book filled with pretty illustrations to accompany each poem. A CD is included; many of the poems are read aloud (most of the authors doing their own readings).
With our 3-year-old attention span, I didn’t think this one would go over. But I was surprised – he loved looking at the pictures, reading the ones of special interest to him (dinosaur ones, a Unicorn one, etc.) We played the CD and I didn’t think he was paying much attention – but he asked to listen to it before naptime yesterday and it lulled him to sleep.
