So I was up in NYC earlier this week. It was a mixed work/pleasure trip and after I was done with my work events,I met up with my bestie from high school who came into the city to meet me last minute. We decided last minute that it would be fun to see a Broadway show and wewere both flexible about what show we would see. There’s a lot of great shows on Broadway at the moment!
We didn’t have tickets until the day of our show because my friend was going to try and make it to the discount tickets booth in Times Square. She didn’t get into the city in time so I asked around and a native New Yorker told me to check out TodayTix.com. They sell last minute tickets on their website and then they meet you at the front of the theatre a half an hour before the show. I was skeptical but I trusted this local knew what she was talking about and went with it.
There were several shows that had discounts but the best seats/deal was for Miss Saigon that day. We snagged “Front Mezzanine” seats but didn’t know row or specific seat until we got our tickets. The site indicates they will give you the best available at purchase but I didn’t know how legit that was. I bought the tickets around 4 pm and received instructions on how to meet up with your TodayTix.com rep.
Sure enough, at 7:30 pm (Showtime was at 8pm), a cute girl showed up of the Miss Saigon ticket booth with a stack of tickets all labeled by name. We got our pair of tickets and were off. Our tickets ended up being front row center in the front mezzanine!
If you can afford to be last minute (they sell up to 30 days before though!), then TodayTix.com is the way to go. Miss Saigon was amazing, by the way. I had never seen it. The music was okay but the storyline and performance is phenomenal.
