I'm the one on the left. Can you guess where I bought my dress?
So I wore this cute little floral dress down to the Golden Inn in Avalon, New Jersey a few weekends ago. I had planned on wearing it for Mother’s Day but the weather didn’t comply (cold and rainy) and I opted to put it on later when I was at the beach for weekend away with a few blogger friends & families.
The dress came from Dress Barn. I have to admit, it’s not a store I would have thought to shop at. They sent this dress over and I was thrilled with it. It was totally fun. And the price is right – the entire outfit (with the yellow knit cardigan) is priced at $59.99.
I was complimented on it by no less than four people over the course of the evening.
A couple things – with this dress, there was definitely some vanity sizing going on. I got a size smaller than I usually would buy, and I did have it have it altered at the tailor’s (very simple, cost me $9). But it was totally worth it. The dress was comfortable, flattering and I felt springy and happy in it. Love it!
Check out your local Dress Barn for some affordable and cute options. There’s a Dress Barn just a few miles from me and I’ll definitely be shopping there in the future.
Disclosure: I received a sample of this dress for review.
“vanity sizing”. Never heard that before, cute phrase. (though vanity sizing usu. kills any chance of clothing fitting me.) Anyway, dress looks great! (and so do all 3 of you!)
Yah I don’t think you could shop there Julie – since they start at a size 4 and I think that probably runs big! I ended up with a size 6 and had to take it in some. While I’d love to say I’m a size 6 that needs to take things in, I’m just not.
I think as people know that going into the store, they’ll be good. And I only tested one dress so of course other items may not run as large!
And I have to admit, I do love the vanity sizing. There was something nice about going to the tailor and asking them to take my size 6 dress in a bit 😀
We have a Dress Barn at our outlets and I admit that I have found some pretty cute things there. I actually bought three dresses last year for a weekend wedding. The yellow is gorgeous…very summery.
