I’ve put off getting a “Mommy Necklace” for a while–love the idea, but its so committal to me. I’m still thinking I’m not “done” (though DH claims he’s through) so I’d hate to get a necklace with one charm that has both boys names. I’d never wear it after #3 is born.

The scoop: You get a choice of 2 silver chains–just like the charms, these are hand-oxidized chains, not necklaces you’d typically find at the mall jewelry store. The clasp is so cool. Again handmade, its an “S” shape and it becomes a positive attention getter when the chain turns–people aren’t reaching over to help me turn it, they’re reaching to inspect it.
The charms: Of course, this is the highlight. You picked your kids’ names, so you must love them. Its only natural to want to keep them close. They remind me of thin thumb-print shaped shells. Scooped like a spoon with your child’s name hand-stamped inside. Each “shell” has a different pattern to it, in my case dots on Carson’s, dashes on Wesley’s. You can order up to 3 charms and each charm is hand- cut, oxidized, stamped, pollished–no two will be alike. The necklace is finished with a stone of your chosing. And additional charms are available.
