Last week, I went shopping at RUUM for my boys. I got them a bunch of cute clothes, including these ADORABLE sneakers that look at a lot like Vans but without the price tag. {Canvas Sneaker, $26 at RUUM} My 10 year old is currently a size 5 kids. Later in my house, I looked down at the shoes and thought, hey, those look like they would fit ME!
I’m a size 7 women and apparently a size 5 in kids! My 10 year old is totally disturbed by the fact that not only do we currently share shoe size but that I want to WEAR his shoes but I’m excited because it opened up a whole new world of shoe shopping for me! I posted on Facebook about it and I had multiple friends responding that they have been shopping kids shoes for years! Who knew?!!! (Not me!)
So… why pay full price for designer shoes when you can get kids designer shoes that look the same! Now I will say this – this opportunity will only work for certain shoes. I can’t imagine that legit running shoes or sneakers would work for what I need them for. And you aren’t going to find any high heels being sold for 10 year old girls that are gonna work for you. But for some specific types of shoes? Rock on bargain prices!
Here are 10 shoe examples of shoes available in a size 5 kids that would for a Mom:
Black Vegan TOMs, $44 (It’s $59 for the Adult version, looks exactly the same!)
Sperry Top-Sider, $60 ($85 for the Adult Version!)
I kind of love these girls flip flops from the Gap (only $6.95!)
This is a great!! I never knew that and I’m a shoe model. Ha. I’m shopping in the girls section now.
