While I’m not much of a DIYer, I’ve recently learned how easy it is to make your own homemade scrub. We actually use a ton of store brought scrubs in our house. I actually keep some out but some in the shower – my boys get tough dry skin patches and nothing helps clean and soften a tough patch of skin (like their elbows) than a good scrub.
It’s surprisingly easy and way more affordable to make them at home. Safer too since you aren’t using any preservatives! Check out this fabulous scrub recipe perfect for the fall that I got from a friend:
Pumpkin Spice Body Scrub
1 cup sugar
1 cup Epson salt
2Tbs table salt
2Tbs Coconut oil
2Tbs canned pumpkin
7 drops Orange Sweet oil
5 drops Cinnamon oil
3 drops Clove oil
Optional fresh grated nutmeg
Mix all ingredients in a plastic or glass bowl, adjust oil drops to your personal preference. Store scrub in tight container out of direct sun light for up to 7 days. Or, store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
