Wall-E releases on November 18th, and is an awesome movie from Disney’s Pixar that any family should have in their movie collection. Wall-E is a robot left on earth after earth is overrun by trash and pollution and humans need to flee to outer space for their own safety. (Let’s not miss the message, there.) For the first 25 minutes of the movie, there’s no dialogue. You’d think this would make for one heck of a boring movie but it’s anything but. Conversation does eventually follow as human characters enter the film and the entire thing is entertaining, and different. Get the three-disc edition for $22.99 on Amazon, or the widescreen edition for $16.99.
Debbie did a review of Tinker Bell, which came out October 28th. This is a great one for all those girls out there for Christmas.
Kung Fu Panda comes out today, November 8th. I can’t tell you all how excited I am for this one to come out! My Mom and I tried to take my boys to see this in the theatre this summer, and while my oldest was enthralled, as to be predicted, my at-the-time 18-month-old wasn’t about to sit still. After struggling for an hour, we had to walk out – which was disappointing especially to my Mom and I, who were loving the movie! Jack Black plays the voice of the Po (the panda). The movie plot is funny and fun and good for all. Check it out on Amazon for $15.99. Don’t miss the two-pack with Secrets of the Furious Five, the follow-up to the movie.
Little Tykes Land came out October 28th and is currently $11.99 on Amazon. The DVD comes boxed with a little toy car and the DVD itself consists of four short shows of the Little Tykes and their friends.
Fans of Wallace and Gromit will appreciate Shaun the Sheep, 8 shorts about Shaun and some of his barnyard friends.
For all those SpongeBob watchers out there, Who Bob What Pants came out October 14th.
I don’t know what it is, but my boys love Pingu. Pingu’s South Pole Adventures comes out next week on November 11th and is $12.99 on Amazon.
A great seasonal DVD is HIT Entertainment’s Snow Days – it came out November 4th and it’s collection of several PBS favorites like Thomas, Barney, Fireman Sam & Bob the Builder.
For all those little Barney fans out there, the Barney I Love You Gift Set came out October 14th and is $21.99 for a set of 3 DVDs, plus a bonus audio CD.
Not exactly a kids movie, but a family movie good for older kids, Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull released at the end of last month. It’s 20-years since the last Indiana Jones crusade and I have to say, I thought this one wouldn’t live up to the old classics but it did. Despite some mediocre reviews on Amazon, I think Harrison Ford’s still got it and hubby & I were definitely entertained. It’s $15.99 on Amazon.
