Awhile back, I was watching a segment on my local NBC station. They had a fashion expert who was walking the streets of Philadelphia looking for women holding black purses. Nothing wrong with the black purse, right? It’s classic, works with everything?
Except, she’d stop these women and ask them to replace their black purse with a colorful purse. They then showed photos of these women holding their bags before and after. The difference was amazing – a little color in a handbag can really make an outfit pop and in every single instance, the entire outfit looked better with the colorful purse than the black one.
Since then, I’ve been collecting many purses of various colors (too many, if you ask my husband!) and I love how I can change up my daily look with just a changing of my handbag.
I recently bought this orange bag at H&M and it’s what I’m currently carrying. Orange is in this spring! I took it up to New York last week and I can’t tell you all how many compliments I’ve been receiving on it. Little do most of these people know, I only spent $24.95 on it! I also spruced up the look even more with a tiny handkerchief/scarf that I bought in-store and tied it off to the side of the bag.

Love the colors of the Poppie Jones clutch! I was just at DSW the other day and saw that bag and other styles with that color. I am going to have to make a trip back very soon:)
I have a gray purse that I love and use all the time, but this post makes me want to go out and get a new color purse right now 🙂

I’m a HUGE fan of a colorful handbag but ironically I’ve been carrying a black one all winter. I have enjoyed the break and it goes with everything (and it’s a gorgeous bag) but I’m definitely ready to get back into color. I really want a green one for spring. 🙂
