Already released:
Madagascar 2: Escape from Africa is a biggie: it came out on DVD on a couple of weeks ago. They have this neat little 2-pack that includes a second DVD with a short film of the infamous penguins stirring up trouble.
For $19.99, you can’t go wrong in buying this two-pack. And, we actually just watched this two nights ago and I think I liked it even better than the first. [released Feb 6]
The Backyardigans: Robin Hood is really cute and includes 3 music videos. It features four episodes and you can find it on Amazon for $11.99. [released Feb 10]
I missed mentioning a biggie last month: the Mary Poppins 45-anniversary DVD. It released January 27th and we just got around to watching it for the first time. (Well, first for me in over twenty years.) It’s such a good movie! I’m surprised just because I hadn’t remembered much but this one is such an oldie, but goodie.
In fact, I watched it with my entire extended family (parents and sister included) and my sister and I ended up on Google searching all sorts of info after the movie. Mainly Julie Andrews, who is just so talented and so young and amazing in the movie. But also a bit of info I hadn’t known – did you guys know that the little boy in this movie died in real life in his early twenties? So sad! You can find more about it online but what a shame, as he was obviously very talented in real life. Anyhow, the movie itself is entertaining for all ages – my 2 year old son was just as entertained as my 63 year old father. It’s a staple in any movie library – check it out on Amazon, the 45th anniversary edition is currently $17.99.
And don’t forget High School Musical 3, which we reviewed earlier in the week and just came out this week. [Feb 17]
