This is the game you want to dig out for a group family play after Thanksgiving dinner. It’s so much fun. Called Kilter, it’s a bit like Jenga with a twist and made by a company called Simply Fun.
This game is all about balancing of pieces. Each team starts the game with a select number of blocks. You take turns placing them on the game board (the thing that looks like a big wooden X in the photos). You can go multiple times in a turn until you choose to pass or a block (or blocks) fall off the board due to an imbalance of weight.
The object of the game is to be the first person to get rid of all your blocks. It’s harder than you think! You can only place on elevated “arms” and if am arm goes down when you are placing a block, your turn is also over.
The rules sound more complicated than it actually is. I’ve been playing this for a week with my 9 and 6 year old and everyone loves it and we get a lot of laughs out of playing. Next time I’m hanging with friends after hours, I definitely plan on pulling this one out!
You can buy Kilter on SimplyFun.com for $36.
Sounds like a fun strategic game for the entire family!
I want to get more blocks. Can I order more ?
