Cole asked me the other day how many weeks were left of summer vacation. We got out the calendar and counted… and realized that we have 6 weeks left. That’s it! This summer is flying by and we’re already halfway there. I feel like we just started.
It’s been a whirlwind of road trips, pool time and weeks and camp. The weather’s been great and I hope these are the memories my kids will carry with them all through their adulthood.
One thing I mistakenly thought I would get a break from was food prep. I always feel so harried getting lunches ready during the school year. Well, I still have to feed ’em in the summer. Go figure. Now it’s just a shifting of making lunches at home, for the pool or for camp.
The last few weeks, my kids have been in camp. I’ve been packing each of them a lunch but on top of that, they need little snack pouches because they snack 1-2 times a day at camp. I’ve been turning to my trusty CVS Gold Emblem favs because they are quick, easy and affordable.
Some of my boys favorites for poolside or at camp this summer have included:
Gold Emblem Classic Blend Trail Mix ($2.77)
What I love is how convent and affordable it all is! Plus, it helps that there’s a CVS within a half mile of my house. It was built last year and it’s been my saving grace! Having it there has definitely been more convenient than I thought it would be since I shop there for things beyond prescriptions, like my Gold Emblem snacks. And we’ve been particularly appreciating it with the summer snack needs – everything’s just quick and easy!
By the way, my all-time-favorite are still the Gold Emblem Jumbo Dark-Chocolate Covered Almonds. I literally can’t have one of these in the house without going to town on them, they are SO good.
