My baby turned 10 today. Hard to believe! It truly feels like just yesterday that I held him on his first day of life at the hospital.
It’s been a great day for him because we got some snow here in Philly so the kids ended up with a Snow Day from school. Cancelled school and hours of fun snow time on a kid’s birthday? It’s like a dream come true!
Before he went outside for an epic 3-hour-snow-playdate, he opened a few gifts. I got a ton of comments on Instagram on the first so I thought I’d share a few of his favorite picks today for those of you still shopping for boys his age:
This Giant Foam Creeper (ThinkGeek.com) was definitely a huge hit. I actually got on flash sale at Zulily in November – it was $40 there. It’s normally $59.99 which I will admit seems like a crazy amount to spend on something like this. I splurged when I saw it on sale. I did notice today though that ThinkGeek.com has 25% off the entire site when you use coupon code GALLEON so for a big Minecraft fan on your list, you can use the coupon and get it for about $44. It’s worth it for the look on his face, trust me.
And you may notice in the picture that my boys are holding Xbox remotes as they sit next to the Creeper… that’s because they are playing Lego Marvel Superheroes for the Xbox ($39.99 on Amazon):
They are loving it because almost every Marvel superhero they can imagine is available to play with in this game. So far today, I’ve watched them play as the Hulk, Mr. Fantastic, Wolverine, Captain America, Hawkeye, Spiderman and more. We got it for the Xbox but it’s also available for Playstation 3 and the Wii U.
And in between sledding and playing Xbox, he built this Lego Minecraft Nether ($59.99 on Amazon)
