Huggies just introduced a slip on diaper called Huggies Slip-ons— and I want to know why didn’t anyone think of this years before? My youngest child is almost 13 months and has turned from a baby into a toddler who hates to sit down for diaper changes. I’ve always been horrible at “put the diaper on the standing child”, so when I got samples from Huggies to try out, I was psyched.
Basically, it works just like a pull up, but is much more absorbent (as in — your kid can sleep in it and it won’t leak all over the place). You can also just slide it onto a child that’s lying down (there are tabs you can easily take apart to remove (or apply the diaper). We tested the Huggies Slip-ons at home (during playtime, mealtime, naptime and at night), at the park and on the road (we went up to my inlaws’ house in upstate NY) – so I feel we tried out every possible scenario a parent may have and I was really pleased how the Slip-ons performed. No leaks, no blowouts that leaked.
While I’ve used pull-up training diapers with my older children (my 3 1/2 year old still naps and sleeps in them), I know that they are work well.. to a point. They can’t handle what a regular diaper can — but the Huggies Slip-ons did. The cost is more expensive than the regular Huggies diapers I usually use, I found it was worth it to have for those times when my little guy will not lie flat for a diaper change or when we are on the go! And they were absolutely perfect for the park — it was such a relief to just be able to stand my son up and change his diaper at the park with the Slip-ons. If you’ve ever diapered a baby on your lap on in your stroller (we’ve ALL done it), the Huggies Slip-ons will make your life so much easier!
They’re designed for babies from 12 to around 36 months.

Poopie diaper on my lap on airplane – babe sitting up
On the ground in a parking lot…long story but needless to say it was a very fast diaper change!!!
We’ve done a lot of diaper changes on the back seat of a rental car while on a trip, being Manhattanites without our own car this is a bit of a challenge but often better than trying to change our son in a rest stop restroom where he will scream his head off because he is frightened by the automatic (loud) forced-air hand-dryers. Also on an airplane seat when he was 6 mos old and on antibiotics… messy (and stinky)… fortunately, we didn’t get him an dirtier than he already was, and didn’t get anything on the seats or ourselves, either.
On a park bench. 🙂
At a Durham Bulls game. She was in my lap and I was sitting in a seat with fans all around us. Oh, and did I mention, she had a HUGE blow-out!!! 🙂
The hatchback of my tiny car.
In an airplane on the seat. The plane didn’t have a changing table!
On a rusted metal bench on the grounds of a historic Southern plantation. It was rough, and thank goodness no one saw us!
The place was not so crazy, but the circumstances were. I had my nephew and my brother gave me nothing–no diapers or wipes. We were driving, he had a HUGE mess, I changed him in my trunk, As I had no water or wipes, I used my diet soda dipped in my socks to wipe him down and then made a make shift diaper with my tee-shirt. Yes, I drove around without my shirt (but it was the summer and my black bra looked like a bikini!)
Definitely the worst was on an airplane bathroom. Those things are tiny. and this one in particular had no changing table either!
on the beach on top of a little towel
On a boat.
On the hood of my demolition derby car, about an hour before it started. Speedways are not known for their diaper changing stations.
On the beach. It was blazing hot. We were under the umbrella.
in a pathology lab in a hospital- on a desk next to a microscope and computer with a bunch of pathology residents and doctors working.
i don’t have a crazy story yet, I am 8 weeks pregnant and I would really like to try to win some Huggies for my little one. Thank you

I have diapered my little boy on a bathroom sink at a resturant in between the sinks. Poopy diapers are really hard like this to change.
the airplane is so tough.. but probably in a friends backseat at a tailgate in the freezing cold.. no room and extra layers while trying to not let her little booty freeze… ahh!

I changed my son on a picnic table while people were eating at tables near us. It was not just a pee diaper either. My sister took a picture so there is proof. Eeeew! I NEVER thought I would do something like this!
The worst was on a road trip to my moms just baby and I. Gas station parking lot, baby on a blanket in the trunk of the van, major blow out, only one wipe left! Had to get creative!
The craziest place ive changed my son is a portable potty at farm house in the middle of no where
I changed my son on my lap at the movie theater!! It was mom & baby movie day 🙂
