The latest American Girl release hits the shelves this fall on September 4th and isn’t she gorgeous? Caroline Abbott is a 9-year-old girl growing up in the early 1800s. She is thrust into the middle of the war of 1812 when her father is kidnapped and held prisoner by the British. As her father is lead off, she promises her father that she will stay strong! It’s a true story of bravery and kindness.
I wanted to bring you a few images of the new doll because I know people get really excited about the new dolls! I cracked open the box the instant she arrived on my doorstep and snapped a few photos for you all.
The new doll will be available on September 4th and there will be 6-books in the book series.

For all of us who live in the North Country of New York State, we are surprised to learn from this blog that Caroline is “growing up in Canada.” Lots of us up here have always assumed that Sackets Harbor, NY is actually located in the United States of America.
But as residents of flyover country, what do we know, compared to all those big city mommies with style?
Timmy, no need to be snide. I received that information online and thought it was odd considering it’s American Girl but the source seemed reliable. I have since verified and edited the piece to correct it so thank you for the heads up although I would have appreciated it with a little less sarcasm. 🙂
She is not from Canada. The harbor is just close to it. Plus, Canada used to be a Brittish colony too, I am uncertain of the time period, but wouldn’t that mean that her father wouldn’t be captured by his side? Just saying, she is from the US. People get really confused when reading too many AG posts.
