I’m 23 weeks pregnant now and starting to figure out what I want to use with the new baby. A playard is essential– and I love Joovy’s Room2 Playard ($199).  It’s the largest one on the market — with  10 square feet of floor space! It also has sturdy 600 Denier material, mesh windows, plus an easy unfold and fold. It comes with one 100% cotton sheet.

While it doesn’t come with a changing pad or bassinet, that’s not what I need. I plan to use it as a space to safely place the baby, while his older brother and sister run around our apartment. I love that I can easily pack it up for visits to grandma’s (it comes with a travel bag).

Opening it up was a lot easier than the other playards I’ve used. Set the mattress aside and put the playard so it is resting on the feet and wheels. DO NOT push the center down yet. With the center of the playard up, pull upward on each side rail until it locks into place (you’ll hear the rails lock). I love that there is only 1 mechanism that locks BOTH pieces of tubing on EACH side rail. Make sure rails are rigid -you may need to lift the center of the floor higher. Then push down the center of the floor and put mattress inside the playard with the soft side up. Find the Velcro® straps near the corners of the mattress. Slide a strap through the slot in the floor of the playard and secure it to the underside of the playard. Repeat this step on the other three corners. Check out the Joovy Room2 Portable Play Yard on Amazon – the red one is currently on sale for $127.47 (36% off!)
