LeapFrog Scribble and Write: Fun Letter Formation

As a mom to a 4 1/2 year old son with poor fine and gross motor skills, LeapFrog’s Scribble and Write ($19 – $22) is one of the best learning toys we’ve found so far. Appropriate for ages 3-5 , children trace the lights with the attached stylus to practice drawing shapes, pictures, and upper and lowercase letters. There are also games! It’s easy for little fingers to push the buttons and simple to use.

My 4 1/2 year old’s letter formation skills have improved since he’s started using it. The Scribble and Write shows my son step by step how to form letters, stroke by stroke, in a fun way (with lights and sounds).  After a day of pre-kindergarten, he rarely wants to sit at the table and practice letter formation with me, but he’ll sit and practice his letters with the Scribble and Write! We also love taking this in the car (it’s ultra-portable and small enough to slip into a toddler backpack).

Go to Leapfrog.com/learningpath to find more ways to expand learning with the Scribble and Write.  You can also find it on Amazon for 19.84.

  1. Whenever we went to Barnes & Noble, my 4.5 year old wanted to play with this so I requested Grandpa get it for her for Hannukah. The buttons are a little hard to press – they’re not buttons that stick out, more like buttons on a microwave that require more pressure.
