Fall is such a fun time… hayrides, candy, being outside, enjoying the weather. Why not do all of those things, while at the same time enjoying rides, shows, and your favorite friends from Sesame Street? We had the opportunity to do just that at Sesame Place this month and enjoyed their Halloween Spooktacular event!
If you have never been to Sesame Place before, it is a great theme park outside of Philadelphia in Langhorne, PA, just a short drive from most places in the Mid-Atlantic region. Many people think to visit Sesame Place in the summer, when you can enjoy all of their water attractions in addition to their rides and shows, but I actually prefer visiting in the fall, when the weather is a bit cooler and you get to see the park in a little bit of a different light.
During the month of October, when Sesame Place hosts their Halloween Spooktactular event, you and your children get to trick or treat around the park! My kids really enjoyed finding the special trick or treat locations and the fun surprises they got around the park. There are some other special attractions, such as a special bubble dance party with Ernie in the pool (no water!), some special Halloween shows like “Countdown to Halloween” and more. Of course you can still enjoy all of the great Sesame dry attractions the kids look forward to, including the Sunny Day Carousel, Cookie Mountain, Ropes and Climb, and more, as well as their signature shows and amazing parade, with a Halloween twist to it!
Our favorite part is seeing the characters, giving them big hugs, being a part of all of the magic at Sesame Place. If you can attend one of the special character dining events, you will be up close with all of the characters — definitely worth it! My 1 year old, 5 year old, and 8 year old all loved the Park in a different way. We loved seeing it decorated for Halloween, and all of the special touches throughout. You can tell that they really go all out for Halloween!
Take a ride this weekend and visit the park. You will really enjoy it! If you can’t make it, make sure you visit for A Very Furry Christmas, their holiday celebration. More on that soon!!!
Disclosure: We received free admission for our family as part of Sesame Place’s media day. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
