In honor of National Dog Day yesterday, I wanted to share a quickie about subscription box service BarkBox.com. I signed up the day after we picked up Maisie from the shelter and we got a box last week. Since we’re newbie dog owners, I thought this would be a fun way to try out some dog products since everything is new to us! Maybe we’d discover a good brand or toy that Maisie would like.

Of course, she loved everything. BarkBox sends you a box with a theme – we got a circus-themed box.

Our box contained two toys, two packs of treats and a bone. Maisie loved everything! Some of the items we received include thefollowing 4 items, plus the watermelon pictured with Maisie up above:

Because I’m a bad blogger, I didn’t think to snap a photo other than that cutie one of Maisie playing with her faux Watermelon dog toy that came in thebox. I’ll be sure to grab better photos or a video for next month’s. I’m trying it out for 3 months.

If you have a doggie and want to treat them, you can use Maisie’s Barkbox.com link – you get a free month and she does too when you sign up! You can pick 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc. I’ve signed Maisie up for 3 months but I can tell I’m going to already want to get her more months.

You also pick based on your dog’s size. Technically Maisie is in the small range right now since she’s 14 lbs but I signed her up for the medium-sized dog subscription since that’s what she’ll be size-wise eventually. The boxes vary each month based on a theme (we got the Circus box) and the size of your dog.

For example, here’s aBarkbox Unboxing for a cute Husky {YouTube}– same month but different theme and I’m guessing the guy picked large for his husky.
