With the holidays right around the corner, I plan on doing a ton of online shopping. I recently learned about a new website where you can earn virtual points that you can exchange for cash and gift cards, MyPoints. It’s basically a free online rewards program.
For creating a MyPoints account and shopping through their site, you earn “points.” Simply click around, do your thing and buy your items. You gain points every time you go through the site.
You can also earn points other days. You can take their surveys, and this also gives you points. I just took one – it was quick – about 3 minutes, and I gained 10 points. Same thing with playing games. Pretty awesome, right? Here’s a chart that shows you ways you can earn easy points on MyPoints.com.
They seem to accrue pretty quickly. And you don’t need a ton to redeem. Many of the rewards are $10 gift cards to some big name retailers. (Amazon, Gap, Panera Bread, Starbucks and more). And apparently new members can earn $10 fast. Once you sign up, you have 30 days to make two purchases and if you do? MyPoints gives you $10 worth of points that you could redeem at a later date. (And that’s not counting the points you earn for making those two purchases – this is just an added bonus!)
I was given about the same for signing up as a blogger and I’ve already added some additional points to my account by taking a couple of surveys. It took very little time!
This is seriously a win-win. If you’re going to shop online, normally you are shopping and getting nothing for it. It’s almost like you are tossing money away! Because knowing that you can visit MyPoints.com and earn extra cash for purchases you were already making is kind of awesome if you ask me. Also, there’s a referral bonus – once you join, you can refer friends and you’ll get additional points for referring them over!
