So I decided to lump everything together into one post today. It’s not smart for SEO or a blog business perspective but I’ve decided, the heck with it! I’ve been thinking a lot of about my blog lately and I want to get back to embracing a little more of what I want to do on my blog and to stop worrying about what I should be doing.
This all comes after a couple of days up in NYC for Blogger Bash, a two-day conference up in New York City earlier this week.
I only popped in for a couple of the conference events. I wish I could have attended more but I headed into town with just a little less than 24 hours in which I had to squeeze in a meeting and then hopefully head to this conference.
I’ve attended the last few years and it’s always a lot of fun – a great time reconnecting with blogger friends and meeting & greeting with brands at some expo/party style events.
This year, they held the event on a boat on Pier81 in midtown Manhattan which was pretty cool. It took me a bit to get used to the rocking of the docked ship but it definitely wins for unique location for a blog conference. I saw a couple of cool productsplus I got some neat tips so I’ll be sharing over the next couple of days.
In the meantime, my inbox exploded with notices of Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. If you’re going to shop at all this summer, this is the time to do it. I’m a huge fan and this week (yesterday) started the Early Access portion of the sale – meaning, if you are a Nordstrom cardholder, you get the deals early. It’s pretty sweet. Early access is available through July 22nd – when the sale opens to the public. The sale ends for everyone on August 8. I’ll definitely be doing some shopping in the next day or two.
Lastly, I’m obsessed with Pokemon GO. I know – you want to tell me all the bad things you’ve read about it. They steal your info. It’s a conspiracy theory from the government to track your every move. If I play it, zombies will come and eat my brains. Blah blah blah. It’s fun – I love it, the kids love it and it’s getting us out and about.
Although I have to say – it’s HEAVILY geared towards people who live in urban areas. Those of you who play the game will appreciate this screenshot of what midtown Manhattan looks like:
RIGHT?!?!?!
But man. I must have had to stop and rejuice my iPhone battery 100 times while I was visiting. The game is a serious drain.
So that’s it. Happy shopping, happy Friday and I’ll catch you guys next week.
