At about 18 weeks I moved into nursing bras. It seemed a waste to buy new bras in larger sizes when I’d only wear them until I grew out of them (I don’t know… 2 months? less?) and then pull them back out about a year and a half from now when I’m shrinking again and wear them for another 2 weeks. So, nursing bras, which are more flexible, it will be. For the next year and a half, I suppose.
The problem, though, is that a lot of maternity tops and dresses are low-cut v’s this year and most of my older nursing bras have pretty high cleavage cover… as in, hide the cleavage so you don’t embarrass your grandmother. But in 2009, you might embarrass her anyway because you’re shirts are now showing your bra. At first, it was a no-win.
Thankfully, Melinda G recently introduced the Glorious™ Contour Tee-Shirt Soft-Cup Nursing Bra–which has a lower cut, making it the more ideal bra to wear with low-cut maternity tops And it has soft cups which will increase your cleavage (yes, you can be a sexy breastfeeder!) when your breasts start to carry less milk (for those of you new to nursing, this really does happen after several months.)
As with all Melinda G bras, you’ll find the easy to use one-handed clips for nursing. And they offer lots of sizes… many more than the typical S, M, L that is so common amongst other nursing bras brands.
You’ll find Melinda G at many retailers online and brick and mortars, like Mom4LIfe, who lists an 8% discount on the MWS Spring Shopping Guide. The Glorious™ Contour Tee-Shirt Soft-Cup Nursing Bra is available at Mommy Gear and at One Hot Mama.
