A couple of weeks ago, I had a MEGA purge in our basement of like 80% of our boys’ toys. It was awesome. I was able to get rid of a ton of things they play with but the one toy genre that I couldn’t touch because they are sacred in our house was Legos. We have dozens of Lego sets and drawers full of Legos – we’re a huge Lego family and both of my boys, but especially Nate, my 11 year old, still loves to build and construct with them.

The best part playing with Legos is definitely the building, right? And while we do keep sets – they sit on shelves and Nate especially won’t play with them much because he doesn’t want to mess them up. Which is why Pley.com is a fabulous rental service for a family like ours.

It’s basically Netflix for Legos and here is how Pley.com it works:

1) Pick your monthly plan: Builder ($19.99 a month/easy & medium sets/free shipping/unlimited exchanges) or Master ($49.99 a month/easy, medium & advanced sets/free fast shipping/unlimited exchanges)

2) Personalize your profile to create a Pleylist from over 300 Lego Sets that fits well for your kids

3) Receive a set – it comes with instructions and all the pieces – your kids put it together and enjoy!

4) Once they are done and you are ready for your next set, break the current set down and mail it back in the prepaid envelope and wait for your new one to come in the mail.

Our first set was the Lego Architecture Brandenburg Gate which is for ages 12+ so I was sure Nate (11 and a Lego genius) would want to sit down and do it but guess sat down and did it in an hour – my 8 year old! Here are some photos from our Pley.com box and building experience:

Cole had a blast. All the pieces were there and it was clean. We’ll keep the set up for a few days and then break it down to ship off and see what our next set will be! I’ve added some more Lego Architecture to our Pleylist as well as some LEGO Movie legos as they love that movie. I’ll update this review once we get a second set!

Visit Pley.com to sign up. If you aren’t sure about it, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial to receive one set and see what it’s about.
