Last week, I was psyched to have the opportunity to check out an early showing of the movie the Odd Life of Timothy Green, a new movie releasing in theaters by Disney later next week (Wednesday, August 15th). I was happy to get a chance to get away from the buzz of BlogHer to just decompress for a little while and to veg out. Plus I totally love Jennifer Garner, who stars in the movie, so I had already wanted to check it out!
The premise of the movie is that Jennifer Garner and her husband in the movie are an infertile couple. They’ve been told they can’t have children naturally and they take one night to lament the news. They cry and they plant a little box in their garden – the box is full of qualities they would have loved to have in a child of their own.
In the middle of the night, some crazy magic mojo goes on and a boy (Timothy Green) grows out of their garden for them. I won’t give any more of the movie away but it’s a beautiful tearjerker and I really enjoyed it, especially as it was something a little different plot-wise than we’re used to. It’s definitely worth a trip to the movies for a girls night out!
