A friend, and MWS member, always hosts the most creative playdates. Each time we go, I’m excited to see what she’ll put together. Last week’s playdate was no letdown. For lunch, everyone made their own pizza and then the kids made ice cream! The kids were draped in aprons and stood on chairs at the island counter. The activities held the 3-year-olds’ attention for quite some time.
Of course, because Carson had such a great time, we were inspired to cook dinner that night. And thank goodness I had not only an apron sized just right for him, but a chef’s hat as well. My favorite kids’-cooking site has introduced a whole bunch of new products since I last visited, including this cloth chef’s hat, apron and rolling pin set.
Growing Cooks encourages families to cook together. This offers a wonderful opportunity for family time as well as learning. And with their variety of kid-sized supplies, costumes and cookbooks, cooking becomes even more exciting than it already is.
While you’re visiting Growing Cooks, you may want to start planning your preschooler’s next party. Our favorites are the rolling pin party favors and the Apron My Way, which includes fabric paints so children can create their own masterpiece on their apron, and in the oven, all at one event.
