It’s post Easter brunch over here and I’m sitting in expanding sweatpants and a big old cup of coffee post Easter wine and I thought it would be a good time to bring you guys photos of my latest Stitch Fix box! I ordered a box requesting a few possible dresses for Easter. It was scheduled to come Thursday but didn’t arrive until later afternoon on Saturday for some reason – talk about getting it in just in time!
My last few boxes have been okay but I do still continue to love the idea of Stitch Fix, especially since there can be great finds in there now and again. This was my 12th box. {See reviews of my other boxes here.}
So here’s the first two pieces to show you:
The silk top is called the Jimson Zipper Detail Top and it’s by Pixley. The jeans are also a piece that came in the box. They are made by Kut from the Kloth, which is a brand I have had good luck with in other Stitch Fix boxes before and noted. I guess that’s why they sent this pair to me but I was not a fan of these jeans. They just felt baggy in random places, plus they were way too long, even cuffed.
The silk top is definitely a cute color – the orange makes for a great pop in the springtime. But man, silk is just hard. As you can see from the photo, the shirt is wrinkled and it came that way right out of the box. I’m just too dang low key to have to iron something every time I’m going to wear it.
Making faces through the window to my kids… not every photo is perfect, that’s for sure!
My box also came with this blue and white striped cardy, called the Addison Striped Knit Cardigan from 41Hawthorn, which is cute but I am unsure about this one too. What do you all think? It’s definitely an all-play and I can see it working with a bunch of different items (it looks great with the orange and the jeans) but I’m not sure if I’ll keep it.
Everything always seems to look better in selfie-up-high mode.
Or when you’re kissing a cute dog.
Moving on, I got two dresses in this box, per my request for a couple of dress options for Easter.
This is the Maeby Dress by Pixley. The cut is that straight cut dress look that’s so popular right now. I’m not sure it does much for me but the print sure is cute.
The other dress was this Kassidy Faux Wrap Dress from also 41Hawthorn (like the cardigan) and I think I’ll be keeping this one. I don’t have any dresses in this shade of purple and I dig the print.
Part of the necklace is hidden in this selfie but wanted to show you that I also thought it looked nice with this Minaret Three-Row Convertible Necklace I got from Chloe+Isabel a few years ago that it looks like they still sell. I’ve gotten a lot of wear out of this one.
I asked friends on Instagram which dress they liked; if any, and most of them responded that they liked the purple one the best. It’s definitely more my style but the point of doing these subscription based boxes like Stitch Fix, for me anyway, is to try and break out of my “normal” style so I’m tempted to keep the second dress just because it’s unlike something else I’d normally buy. If I’ll wear it, of course. I have to decide if I think I would do that.
In the meantime, anyone have any feedback on any of these pieces – what to keep, what not to keep?
I’ll also be trying Trunk Club soon! It’s another subscription based clothing service like Stitch Fix. With a personal stylist. I’ll post about that once it comes too!
I’m gonna disagree with you on a few.. I LOVE the orange ‘poppy’ blouse on you AND the jeans. Now with that said, I agree with you on not wanting to iron(iron-what is that anyway? Can one even iron silk?). . . Didn’t think the blouse looked that wrinkly though- still looked cute on you.
Next ,I do like the blue/white striped cardigan-think you should choose that as well. Will go with a lot!
Dresses I think are just ok-even though you look good in everything you tried on.
I like the wrap style of the purple over the straight up/down of the first dress. Wrap dresses are always flattering, I think. Just not my color choices or patterns. I do admit (for me) I usually choose nondescript drabby type colors-lots of beige-so that’s where I am coming from. However, despite my love of plain beige, I say again, that oranjy poppy color looks wonderful on you.
I like the purple wrap dress! I do like the Chevron print on the other dress, but it is very patel-ey… needs a bit more color.. with my 3 boys that dress would be stained on wear 1. Always fun to see what is in the stitch-fix boxes.
LOVE the purple dress on you!!!!
The orange blouse looks great, that is my favorite on you! Both dresses look nice too. I do love Stitchfix 🙂
