Aloha from Hawaii! My family is now a week into our two week vacation on the Islands of Hawaii. Friends back home: don’t be shocked if you never see me again because it’s true paradise here and I’m not sure how I’m going to manage to board a plane again next week.
I have a lot I want to share butI have to gather my thoughts and photos which will take awhile but if you want to follow me somewhat live, you can check out all of my photos on Instagram {@WhitneyMWS}. Every photo is photo-worthy, it’s hard to select the right ones to share.
While I’m here, I wanted to bring you this quickie review of a product full of just awesomeness and I’m so happy to have discovered it – it’s called Kukui Cream and it’s a MUST HAVE if you have ever had a sunburn, eczema or any sort of skin irritation.
We first heard of this product from our tour guide who took us to Pearl Harbor for the day. While he was chatting away and encouraging us to remember to drink lots of water and to wear sunscreen, he mentioned Kukui Cream. He brought it up several times again and told us, “if you take one bit of information home from Hawaii – remember to buy and use this product.”
Kukui Cream has been used for centuries in Hawaii. It’s made from pressing the oil of the kukui nut tree and it has essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins and other goodies that help to soothe sunburn, dry skin and other skin conditions.
Given how much our tour guide raved about it, we thought we’d pick some up and see if it really was the end-all-be-all that he made it out to be. My oldest son got a little bit of a sunburn one of the days we were outside so I thought it was worth trying.
Not only did the Kukui Cream help to soothe the pain of the burn, but the suburn was remarkably better the next day, in a way I feel we would have never see with aloe.
Give it a try. I had never heard of it before but there’s plenty of mainstream stores where you can buy this product.
We bought it locally on the Big Island of Hawaii and this is the product we purchased from Oils of Aloha.
Ulta.com offers this Kukui Cream productfor more money but it’s from the Body Shop so it’s a little easier to find on the mainland.
OGX Beauty also makes a Kukui Oil Shampoo that I may have to try out once we get home.
