My sweet summer is wrapping up. While this isn’t exactly how I saw my summer going, it is exactly what I needed. A complete reset. My summer started off with a bang with a family trip to Italy. This was a much needed and much-appreciated adventure that sparked my interest in traveling and finding my independence. You can check out my Italy Series for more on my Italian experience.
When I got home, I spent the next month living out of a suitcase. I visited my BFF in NYC and traveled to Firefly Music Festival with the Firefly queen herself, Emma. I took trips to the beach and just enjoyed every day. I met a new group of friends and we explored Philly together finding all the good bars and clubs to go to.
July was spent in the classroom and at work. I took two summer courses at West Chester University and actually had a good time. I was super busy but still found the time for friends and family fun.
Now we’re here, at the end of August, and I have no idea where the time went.
This summer was filled with excitement and change. I said a lot of goodbyes that I didn’t think I was ready for, but that opened so much room for new people and new energy. I have never felt better.
I learned a lot this summer, here are the top 5 things I think everyone should know.
- Family is forever.
- When you close a door, so many more open.
- Summer school is enjoyable.
- Being 21 is, in fact, a lot of fun.
- Summer flings are real, and real exciting too.
My sweet summer is over, but I am so ready for my sweet senior year.
