Today I’m testing out tarte cosmetics’ lights, cameras, splashes 4-in-1 waterproof mascara, $19.  I got it a few days ago at Sephora and I’ve been excited to try it out.  I’ll admit, I’m not much of a mascara connoisseur.  I’m generally happy with most (unless they are unusually clumpy).  Because of that, I don’t tend to spend a lot of money on mascaras – I’m usually good with the $4 version at the drugstore.  That said, I was super impressed with this mascara from tarte.

Here are some before and after pictures so you can see how it went on:

It went on smoothly and wasn’t clumpy at all.  I saw some commenters on the tarte website saying it clumped a bit for them but it didn’t for me.  I always pump the mascara wand a few times before I actually apply and I think that helps mix in and freshen any potential clumping.  Also, I’m writing this post 6 hours later and the mascara is still on my eyelashes and going strong.  I haven’t gone swimming or anything but it seems to be waterproof and long-lasting for sure. Overall feelings: this is a high-quality mascara that’s certainly worth $19!

Some other non-mascara favorite tarte products of mine include the Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage Foundation and SPF 15  Sunscreen ($38).   I use this product regularly in the winter as my foundation.  I like how it’s thick and it rubs in really nicely.  You can pick from a big selection of skin tones and I can personally attest to be it very long-lasting.  This foundation literally does not come off until I use a makeup remover at the end of the night.  There’s an Amazonian Clay 12 hour Blush too for $26!  It has rave reviews and I want to try this soon.

Lastly, another favorite of mine is this tarte maracuja C-brighter eye treatment, $38.  I have serious purple bags under my eyes and I use this tarte product on the nights I remember and I do see that it helps.  It reduces the dark circles but also does some great moisturizing!  I know it looks like a small jar for $38 but I literally take a tiny dollop of it with my pinky and it goes a loooooong way.  I’ve had this product for almost a year and not had to replace it yet.
