If you have a boy who is 7+, chances are you have heard of Minecraft or he’s already playing! My 9-year-old son has been playing Minecraft for a little over a year now. It’s the *it* game for boys right now, or it sure seems like it!
While I play, I would imagine most Moms don’t (I’m a geek) and don’t really have any clue what about the game. Plus, it’s a confusing game! A lot of my son’s friends still don’t know how to play and it can be daunting to jump into a new game your friends have already been playing for awhile.
Enter Minecraft for Dummies. As you can imagine, this is a For Dummies book for beginners. It lays out the basics but also includes some tips. Here’s my son Nate reading it and getting some ideas from it – and I’d say he’s a pretty advanced player!
The book’s not too long – 160 pages so it’s easy to get through. It walks you through how to survive, how to build and tells you about each resource in Minecraft and what you can do with it. Super helpful! Also wanted to note – this book was written by a high school student!
