In recent years, Earth Day (April 22nd) has become Earth Week and brands and bloggers over the world are discussing ways we can be more eco and earth friendly. Of course we should be eco-conscious year round but it’s nice to have a week to focus and learn about ways we can be green 365 days a year.

What about makeup? Makeup & beauty can definitely be guilty industry when it comes to be anti-earth friendly. But awesomely enough, there are plenty of eco-friendly brands and products around that you can choose for your beauty products. Here are a few of them:

Josie Maran Cosmetics – Josie Maran of Dancing with the Stars launched this eco-friendly brand in 2006. The company works with the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics to ensure the ingredients are environmentally safe. I love this Josie Maran Dual-Purpose Makeup Stick ($22, Sephora.com). Origins – Origins offers natural skincare products.

I’m a big fan of their GinZing ($29.50, Origins.com) – eye cream that helps spruce up your look under your eyes. (I’ve got serious bags, ladies!) Visit Origins.com to shop the entire line. Free A Perfect World Cleanser & Free Shipping w/Any Skincare Order with Coupon Code Tint

LUSH. Man, I just love LUSH. I had never heard of them until a little over a year ago when hubby and I stumbled into their story in Center City Philadelphia while out on a date night.

The wonderful smells coming out of the doors onto the nasty street sidewalk literally lulled us into the shop and I’ve been hooked ever since. LUSH uses fresh organic fruits, vegetables and oils in all of their products. I’ve used their Lemony Flutter ($14.95) on my hands and it’s divine on those cracked dry hands that are so common in cold weather.
