For the second year in a row, I’m working with VSP Vision Care to bring you occasional posts about eye health. Did you know that research has shown that 50 percent of vision problems are preventable through early detection and follow-up care?
VSP and Transitions Optical recently partnered for community outreach events in Nashville in early June, where they provided free eye exams and eyewear to children in-need at the W.O. Smith Music School, as well as at two local Boys & Girls Clubs. In addition, Transitions Optical headed to the CMA Music Festival where Transitions® adaptive lenses™ was the Official Eyewear of the CMA Music Festival, and they had a meet and greet with Darius Rucker, a Transitions lens wearer (also from Hootie & the Blowfish!).
“One thing I love about being a musician is the ability to connect with my fans, and vision is very much a part of that experience,” said Darius Rucker. “As part of my partnership with Transitions Optical, we’re working to spread the word in Nashville and across the country about the importance of eye exams and having the right eyewear to fit your lifestyle.”
For more information on eye health, pictures and a chance to win great prizes, check out VSP’s Facebook page.
In honor of the partnership between Transitions and VSP, I have a fun giveaway for one Mommies with Style reader! One winner will be able to pick out a pair of designer sunglasses (a $100+ value!).
To enter, comment below, and tell me how your family takes care of their eyes. Do you get regular checkups? Do you wear glasses?
One winner will be selected at random after Friday, June 28.
Disclaimer: I am being paid to work with VSP for the second year as a blog ambassador. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I go to a regular check up and I do wear glasses when I drive.
We get regular check ups twice a year. I wear reading glasses. Also, I wear sunglasses…very important!!! We only have one set of eyes, so it is vital to take care of them. Lovely giveaway…thanks!!!
My kids have not had a checkup except at school but my husband and I both go annually. We both wear contacts. My great-grandfather went blind from macular degeneration and my grandmother had glaucoma in her 20’s so eyecare is very important to me!
My family gets regular eye checkups, because almost all of us have glasses. I usually wear contacts, too.
we all wear glasses, and we get check ups
My husband and oldest son need glasses so we get our eyes checked regularly.
Yearly eye exam and wear sunglasses
Yes, so far 3 out of the 4 of us wear glasses or contacts. We try to get into the eye doctor once/twice a year.
First off I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question that I’d
like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out
how you center yourself and clear your thoughts
prior to writing. I’ve had difficulty clearing my mind in
getting my thoughts out there. I truly do enjoy
writing however it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are generally lost just trying to figure out how to begin.
Any suggestions or tips? Kudos!
