It’s been a couple of days since I posted. We’re currently on vacation so that’s part of the distraction but this is my other mega-distraction:

I can’t help but be distracted by that face!! Her name is Maisie and she will be 12 weeks old on Saturday. We adopted her through a local shelter who rescues dogs from the south who are in overcrowded shelters and are scheduled to be euthanized. Can you believe that this bundle of cuteness was on the euthanasia list along with her mother and two baby brothers? I’m so glad for our local rescue {All 4 Paws} and that we were able to find her and adopt her.

She is the SWEETEST thing. My biggest concern was that the cats would freak out but they actually were getting along beautifully with her when we left to head south.

We drove 9 hours with her in the car on Tuesday and she was a dream in the car – slept most of the way.

We’re still working on potty training but she gets better every day and she’s so smart! She has learned sit already and we’re working on stay and shake. And she goes in the crate for close to 8 hours every night so I’m thrilled that we’re not having to get up in the middle of the night.

The nipping is a little bit of a problem but I’ve been Googling ways to help stop puppy biting and would love any advice anyone has. She seems to want to nip when she’s playing with us or when we are walking and she especially loves to bite Cole, who is the youngest in our house and I’m convinced she thinks Cole is one of her puppy mates.

I’m going a little crazy with puppy photos on Instagram (follow if you like dogs!).

I’ll be back to posting soon but in the meantime, if anyone has any new puppy advice (especially ones that involve puppy biting/teething), I’m all ears!
