Tomorrow’s the day!!! I’m co-hosting the 5th Mom Mixer in Philadelphia and could not be more thrilled to welcome 200 bloggers and some amazing brands including CVS, Hasbro, Just Play, McDonald’s, Spaghetti Headz, Telebrands, Stride Rite & more to the Franklin Institute for a day of fun.
As always, I spent the last few days stressing about general logistics but also about what to wear! It’s a big day of being on my feet but I always love the excuse to dress up.
In the past, I’ve worn a wrap dress from Banana Republic (black and blue), a skirt & blazer combo from Banana & J Crew and a dress from Ann Taylor. I was thinking I’d find something in my closet this time around but then yesterday I decided what the heck and that I wanted another excuse for a new outfit!
My eye had caught on a dress in an email from White House Black Market last week so I headed over to my local mall to try some outfits on. I was digging the idea of wearing skinny pants and dressing them up. Here’s a few of my outfits that were possibilities.
Black Stretch Heel Boot (on sale for $157.50 right now); 5-Point Ponte Skinny Black Legging ($84); Long Sleeve Tunic V-Neck Blouse ($98); Red Silvertone Skinny Belt ($44)
This is the Petitie Silk & Lace High Low Blouse ($98):
Long Sleeve Colorblock Coverup ($88):
Sleeveless Ruffle Asymmetrical Tunic Top, on sale for $49.99
This is the Long Sleeve Plaid Skirt Dress ($160) which is definitely a dress up or down outfit. Note that it ran a little big – I’m normally a 6 in a dress but this is the 4. Helloooooo vanity sizing, I love you.
Here are some other pieces I tried on that I considered. I also tried on this Long Sleeve Mock Blouse Pullover ($98) and it’s a great piece for work!
Also, I was completely in love with the Natural Suede Brown Bootie (on sale $140.00). I’ll spoil it a little and tell you that I did splurge on these. They were so dang comfortable (which is key when I’m going to be on my feet all day) and too cute to resist. I’ll have to report back how I did in them all day. 6 hours on my feet is the true test!
So what else did I go with? Stay tuned for Mom Mixer posts starting Sunday to find out!
