Image and video hosting by TinyPic For a new, super creative  spin on the lunch box, check out the yubo Lunch Box System! Choose from the Standard ($21.95) or Deluxe ($29.95).

The Standard comes in either pink, orange or blue, with the choice of one free set of designable faceplates — either School Rules in either green or yellow, Sharks or Peace (the containers or ice pack are not included). The Deluxe yubo includes a blank name tag, a standard faceplate set, a large container, 2 small round snack containers and the large, flat ice pack. Parents have the option of adding another faceplate set with either personalization (ranges between $6.95 to $9.95) or a photo ($12.95).

yubo is BPA-free, Eco-friendly, and anti-microbial.  It’s also top rack dishwasher safe and totally recyclable (when your child is finished with it).

Image and video hosting by TinyPic yubo opens from either side and is very preschooler- friendly. We had a great time practicing how to open and close it with my 4 year old son, who has poor gross and fine motor skills. After a few minutes, he was able to do open and close it by himself.

Besides the cool design options, I really loved BPA-free polypropylene food containers. The sandwich size container is huge and will easily hold larger sandwiches (I was able to stick some chips in too). The medium size (comes in a 2 pack) may be better for kids who aren’t going to eat the traditional sandwich — I suggest using one for turkey/cheese slices and one for crackers. The small container (comes in a 2 pack) is perfect for dry snacks, applesauce or yogurt. By using the small containers for holding yogurt/applesauce/pudding — you can ditch the snack cups and save some money (and the environment) by buying/making a larger container of applesauce/yogurt/pudding. If you get the standard version, you can use your own containers.

If you want to use a juice box– certain smaller sized ones will fit better than others. Apple and Eve’s Sesame Street branded Juice Boxes are pretty much the same size as one of the small snack containers.  For a more eco-friendly choice,  you will soon have the option to buy an insulated bottle holder ($5.95) -which is coming out any day now,  which wil attach your child’s reusable bottle to their yubo. Since my son loves his Green Sprouts stainless steel bottle, we’re psyched about this option.
